Currently the software is in it's infancy, I would even say it's embryo, stage. I started with a proof-of-concept on Friday and I've been working all weekend to enhance this POC to the point that I could release something. After about 36+ hours of coding, I have a very buggy and basic Palm Desktop AddIn that will create/update entries in Google Calendar with entries from Palm Desktop Datebook. This is currently written in Visual Basic and has been tested on Palm Desktop 4.2 and 4.1.4. The current state of this software does not necessarily represent the direction I'm planning for this project. The primary goals I've set for this project are: *Cross-platform (Windows, Linux, and potentially OSX) *Ability to sync Calendar & Contacts with Google (in both directions) Tentative Goals: *Palm and Pocket-PC support (Pocket-PC will depend on interest and availability of testing hardware) *Implementation may be conduit, Palm Desktop AddIn, or Palm based program *Sync may be performed through Desktop Sync connection or WiFi To achieve these goals, there may be different solutions that comprise the total project to satisfy the various requirements and goals. Most notably, I will be switching over to Java as the primary language. If you would like a copy of the Palm Desktop AddIn, please let me know. As I said, it's fairly buggy (nothing that should impact your system though) but it's fairly functional. If you have Java experience and are interested in contributing, also let me know. If you are still interested in testing but don't have Java experience and don't want to use the buggy Palm Desktop AddIn, keep an eye on http://www.googlesync.com for upcoming news and releases. Based on my initial POC, I estimate about two weeks for something to be released for testing. In the meantime, if you have suggestions or feature requests, please submit them at http://bugs.googlesync.com. -- Thank You, Shawn Grimes -- Voytek
